Tips for the retailer

  1. Top cutting.
  2. Single stem.
  3. Branched stem.
  4. Tuft.
  5. Motherplants.

  • Look carefully at the pot/plant proportions when buying. The better this proportion is, the greater the decorative value of the plant. If the pot is too small, the plant will have insufficient reserves of food and moisture. In addition a plant in a small pot will easily fall over, with the risk of damage to leaves. Also check the leaves. A healthy Dracaena will have upright or slightly drooping leaves. Its leaves will also be shiny.

  • As soon as purchased Dracaenas arrive in the shop, they must be unwrapped.

  • Most Dracaenas are not terribly sensitive to low temperatures and the best storage temperature is 15 degrees Celsius. The plants may not be exposed to sunlight and displayed out of doors at temperatures lower than 12 degrees Celsius.
